Marsa Alam
Egypt’s Marsa Alam is a tourist town beside the Red Sea. It is well known for having coral reefs and sandy beaches. The U-shaped Abu Dabab Bay is well-known for its dugongs, or sea cows, and sea turtles. A coral reef divides El Naaba Lagoon, a popular kite-surfing spot, from the open ocean. South of the town is Wadi el-Gemal National Park, which includes desert, reefs, islands, and seagrass beds.
